Your Journey in Self-Discovery Starts Here!

Meet Deborah

In high school, I remember thoughts of becoming a therapist, but as it turned out, life had a different plan and journey that took me on many detours and roadblocks. Looking back now, I have realized back then I was not ready and the lessons and experiences that I learned, both positive and negative, have better prepared me to be an informed therapist in my practice and this has allowed me to bring unique experiences and perspectives to the way I hold space and help people. I learned about resilience in the face of lessons learned. While it feels like we experience many of the same things, our feelings and behaviours towards the outcomes will differ. I strongly believe that our unique life experiences prepare us for where we are supposed to be in life. As human beings, our resilience grows, and we are often stronger than we give ourselves credit for. I wouldn’t trade the experience I gained along the way for anything.

I overcame my trials, and have arrived at my final destination, in the hopes that the lessons that I have learned along the way will help others who are struggling in much the same way that I did. I learned that the thoughts and feelings that we experience in our daily life are often trying to tell us something - that maybe it’s time for change, that maybe we deserve better. When we commit to this change, we realize that everyday is a blessing, every breath is cleansing, and that letting go is often the key to living a grounded and expansive life.

In my downtime, I use a variety of self-care regimens that I have put in place to help support myself while I support you. I enjoy going for walks with my dog in the autumn leaves and seeing the beautiful, vibrant colours. Mother Nature is amazing and this is just one of the beautiful gifts that she shares with us. I also love sweater weather, and curling up with a good book and cup of tea. I believe that music calms the soul and I  am often found headphones while I am listening to a wide variety of music. I appreciate the quiet moments, when there is not a single sound around me allowing for a sense of calm, and  the ability to really listen and connect with my thoughts and emotions. It’s amazing what they say when I really take the time to listen.

I am a registered psychotherapist with a diverse background in health and psychology, holding degrees in Health Studies, Nursing, and a Master’s in Psychology. I offer a compassionate and tailored approach to help you achieve personal growth and resilience. And most importantly, I am so grateful to have landed in this place in life, where I am able to hold space for you. Where my experience, knowledge, and training have finally come together to give me the tools and wisdom to grow into a better version of yourself!
